Hi Guys:

This is the start of my build on the Robinhood 80 I brought for "show & tell" at our meeting Tuesday. Just a few pics for progress to date.

Tom

Thought some of you may be interested in seeing the "sticks" come together.

This kit is over 28 years old.

Some of the sticks.

Robinhood 80 Build Pa120011
The right side is built over the plan.

Robinhood 80 Build Pa130011
The right side finished.

Robinhood 80 Build Pa130012
Left side is built over the right side.

Robinhood 80 Build Pa130013
Two sides with a few spreaders in place and squaring.\

Robinhood 80 Build Pa130014
Since I build with Titebond-II or Gorilla Glue I work on other parts while waiting for things to dry.

Robinhood 80 Build Pa130015
The landing gear clamped on scrap wood with all pieces CA'ed together so I can wrap with copper wire and silver solder. Would be nice just to braze it with brass but too much heat and wire would get brittle.

Hi Guys, thanks for the comments.

It really is a very easy build and I love "sticks". They are BIG sticks- the main framing is .375 x .375 with interframing .250 x .375. I have added a few corner braces of laminated (for cross grain) .287 balsa, there will be a few more. Makes a tremendous increase in strength for only a couple of ounces.

Hi Guys:

Been a few days since I posted progress, been working on a companion project.

Anyway she is standing on her own legs, not the right wheels. They will be here Tuesday, 5.5" Big Wheels. With air pressure set low it should have a nice look.

Have to pin the firewall, add corner bracing throughout the fuselage and rough sand. Start the wings now.
