Hi Guys:

Thanks for the good wishes. It was a milestone for me, I am now officially older than dirt !

Firday is looking like a good day to be at the field so I will be there. Think I will take my Mini-Bipe out. I flew it last week with the Thunder Tiger .070 and was OK, but not great. I changed out the engine for my Norvel .074, these little dudes are a lot more powerful so it should make a big difference. Still really enjoy the 1/2-A stuff. I need to look around and see if I can come up with plastic carpet runner I can use as a runway for ROG's.

Hi Dave:

Yeah I have had several over the years and I love them

I went to the field today (Friday) and flew the Mini-Bipe with the Norvel .074 and quite a difference, of course the .074 will swing the 7 X 3 or 7 x 4 prop with ease.

The field is still VERY wet ! Waiting for it to dry out so I can maiden the new Eindecker E-III. She is all ready, after installing the 1.60 twin the C/G came out dead on the range. Laughing Laughing Laughing All set to re-kit. Sad Sad Sad

Hey Tom, ya think one of the norvel's would work in an ace pacer or mach none?? I had one with a tee dee .049 and never seemed to have enough power.

Mine went like crazy on a Tee Dee. It was run on pressure though.

Hi Dave:

If you use the .074 USE LOT'S OF GLUE ! I am absolutely in awe of the power these Norvel .074's develop. The Russian's designed the port timing really radical to develop max power but it also idles well, my old Iskendarian 5-cycle cams in Olds blocks ran like hell but would load up at every stop light, leave it to the Russian's.

The new Norvel's use exactly the same parameters as the original. In fact I understand that most of the original team moved to the new company and bought the machines to make them. The old factory is now back on aerospace projects.

Would love to see your Mach None combo- BUILD ONE !

Hi Roger:

Not like the Cox crowd (20,000 plus) but it will easily spin a 7x3 to 17500 and if you drop down to a 6x4 you can show 19500 to 20,000. The thing about the Norvel is the consistent fuel draw and idle. I almost never land them dead stick unless I set the idle trim too low.

It looks like that should make it go.
