CopterX made it!
1/2 way through the build, will post pics tonite!

CopterX has a bad esc, failed out of the box.
Oh well, I was gonna upgrade anyways.
Got a 60amp Align esc coming from highflyheli.com

Hey Troy, to bad on the esc. That chopper makes your bench look smaller

Gave CopterX a Red Bull, she has rotary wings!
Started to get dark during the test/tune session, video forthcoming tomorrow!
Needs a little dialing in yet, she kicks nose left on mild punchouts, then recovers.

Dave, this Align esc is the cats ass, it spools up really slow, like it has a clutch, it is the soft start setting, I like it.

Crappy weather has kept CopterX grounded, got kinda windy, luckily I had her tied down on the pad in the backyard!

Well, I was setting up the tail on CopterX, could not get her dialed in, kept spinning, then good, then spinning.
Thought I had it, spun her up almost into a hover, she spun left out of control, broke/bent a bunch of tail parts.
Here is why, cheap ass electronics.

She is ready.
I have a gy48 coming for sure, and a possible Futaba gy401 in the works, whichever shows up 1st gets the 1st flight. winkwink, nudgenudge.;D
And a CopterX gyro a pencil soldering iron away from being functional.

When the gyro freaked out on me it bent the tail rotor shaft among other things.
But before that happened, when you flipped the main blades by hand it barely went a full rotation.
When I put the Align tail shaft in, the drive gear wouldn't turn the belt drive gear, it just skipped.

I did the mod with the washers, now when you flip the main blades it goes almost 3 rotations.
