Ok here we go.
Servo's mounted, installed the cnc bearing holders and boom support.
My Legend 450 build DSC02407
Can I mount the gyro flat on the boom support or does it have to be mounted standing up?

Build 99.9 percent complete, just need to adjust the pitch on the blades and tuck away the receiver.

No dice on mounting the gyro flat, no response.
It also helps to mount it right side up... Jus' sayin' Laughing

Hey Troy, Looks good!!!! do they call for the servos to be mounted from the back side of the tray???? normally they would go in from the face side, looks like your front two pushrods would line up more vertically if so. I've never put a 450 together so maybe thats the way its supposed to be. just happened to notice that. Dave

Yeah Dave you are right, I mounted them the same as the Genesis is, but these Raiden servos are bigger, I just went and looked, they will line up better if they went through the tray.
I'll change them tomorrow, I have a headache, I worked on this most of the day.

I spent most of the day workin on rc stuff as well. Trying to get jason's trainer ready, decided to go with a 40 size outrunner rather than glow power and proceeded to try everything possible to get the esc to work, after 4 hours of trying different components with no luck i'm calling it a day Evil or Very Mad

Did take a couple breaks to fly that little blade around the house and terrorize the cat tho!!!!

I have a spare 30a esc, exceed rc, didn't even have to program it, worked right outta the box.
You want to try that one? Or is it too small?

Hey troy, It would be to small for flying purposes ( using a 60 amp) but to test things it would work great. I thought i had an extra but can't find it. maybe later in the week i could borrow it for a day if i cant get this thing sorted out. Thanks!!

No problem, maybe a night this week we can go to the field to roll it and you can get it then.

The servos are gonna stay the way they are for now, I have to completely remove them and the wiring to reposition them,.
The angle of the push rods is minimal.

Yea, once you have everything wired in it can be a real pain to change!!! I'm sure that angle will be fine.

Hey Troy, Did you to have enlarge the holes in the servo tray???? How do the linkages line up vertically now with the servos moved???

Servos slid right through, line up perfect now!
Did you know you can adjust each servo individually w/the dx6i?
Leveled the swash w/o popping a ball link.

I wasn't aware that you could do that with the 6xi, very cool to not have do all the adjustment by poppin the ball links off!! Good luck with the test flight!

Ok, here is where I am at...
Gyro settings are
0 70
1 35
When I move the stick left and right in 1 it immediately goes back to center when I release the stick.
In 0 when I move the stick left and right, the slider stays to the right if you are looking at it from the tail.
This is the same as the Genesis.
Ok, now... The Genesis' gyro light is red in hh and off in rate.
The Legend's gyro is always blue, does not change when you flip between rate and hh, the only way you can tell is the servo bumps when you switch.
These are the same gyro's, same part #, but, the one on the Genesis has 2 pots and an led, the one on the Legend has only 1 pot, a hole where the lower pot is on the Genesis, and an led.
So? What gives?
I adjusted the rudder servo horn to center in rate mode mechanically and it seems better, need to test it now to see if it is better, it seems better when I do the bench test.

I think I got her sorted out!
Gyro gain is set at 70 on the zero side of the switch.
The main factor that made her fly decently was I had the servo ball link as far in as possible, close to the servo, moved it out to the center of the servo horn and made sure it wasn't binding, centered the servo horn in rate mode, 1 side of gyro switch, which is set at 35.
Trimmed out the rudder and she holds pretty good, pretty much acts exactly like the Genesis.
The tail was bobbing a little bit when the battery was starting to drop a little so I adjusted the gain to 65 in hh, piro'd on me and blades hit the ground, bent the main shaft(butter shaft), but that was it in damage.
I must have been right on the edge of sensitivity.
