I was going to bring this up @ the meeting but left before hand, My friend Bob who has rolled the field the last couple of years has taken a job with a new company and probably won't be able to have access to the type of heavy duty rolling equipment as in years past. Does anyone know someone who could roll the field??? Dave

Hi Dave & Guys:

When I was at the field Friday, I pretty much walked the whole field checking condition. As mentioned earlier, I think it is in really good condition. The ground is just perfect for rolling now. I beleive if one of you fellas with a full size pickup pulled our own roller around we would get a good result. If I still had my F150 4X4 I would do it, but my little Ranger would barely pull your hat off.

Anyway, a thought.

Best,

Tom

My Durango could do it if that is an option.

Hey Troy, if you get a chance to get out there it certainly can't hurt. The field is pretty bumpy!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, I will do it then, maybe uncover the grill and clean her up and stuff.
I do have a little experience w/Jacobson mowers, may even have some parts here, Ange's dad was a huge Jacobson fan, we have 3 runners here and a few parts tractors... These things are all like 40 years old. Shocked But the 3 runners run strong.

I don't have the right kind of hitch to hook up to the roller.
Is there another hitch for it?

Dave and I came up with a way to hook up to the roller, prolly gonna try it friday or saturday.
It looks pretty heavy, not 100% sure the Durango can pull it w/o digging holes.
Anyone gonna be there friday or saturday?
I am not sure how to do it, just pull it back and forth the length of the field, and then go the width of the field?

Troy:

I will probably be out Sat & Sun. Don't expect to fly Sat, forecast winds are high so I will just be a "sidewalk supervisor" .

Watch the east end, it is pretty soft out there. That roller probably out weighs your Durango.

Troy:

I was at the field this morning (Friday) flying my 'Pokes. The field is really wet. Puddles everywhere, should be ok for flying Sat & Sun but I wouldn't try rolling. You would probably need a whip antenna with a high vis flag on the roller to locate it after you got your Durango dug out.

Ok, I'll wait until it dries out a little.
Maybe at least hook up to it to see if the Durango can budge it...
Gonna go out there to try flying tomorrow and maybe sunday, hopefully it isn't too windy.
