Hi Guys:

Anyone have any winter projects going ?

I am building another Eindecker E-III Balsa USA kit.

I am using a DLE 20cc in this one. It is a lot lighter than the EVO (MVVS) 26cc GX I had in the last one. Only 29 ounces complete, engine, muffler and ignition module. I sold the last one at Waukesha Swap Meet last year, coming up Jan 2nd 2011 by the way.

Couple of pics.

Hey Tom, that looks like a cool winter project. I didnt realize that engine is trhat much light than the evo 26. I'm gonna do a raptor 60/90 based bell jet ranger. Always wanted one, so now is the time Very Happy Also gonna make a point to finnish my 35% extra 260. Dave

Hi Dave:

Great projects, look forward to seeing that Ranger. Don't see how it could be much nicer than your 500 though.

Yeah, the little 20cc really is a light weight, see attached. Real world, not a sales brochure, 1.8 lb =28.8 ounces.

Haven't started it yet but the DLE's all seem to run very well, saw a couple on YouTube.

Wow Tom another good idea I see, puttin all the parts in a bag and hang to weigh, I always try to balance everything on top of my scale, you have a much much better system there Very Happy
Thanks for 500 compliment! I'll try to make it at least the equal of or maybe slightly better with a couple more scale things. After 35 years of building airplanes the heli stuff is all new and pretty exciting and has its own challenges!
